Grace at Work

Résumé Builder

Tell us about your work in plain language — no résumé vocabulary required. As you answer, we'll help you sharpen how you say it. From there, Grace Avenue Journey drafts three documents for the job you're actually applying for: your résumé, a cover letter written for that specific role, and one more piece of your choosing. Everything is written by hand, formatted to clear the screening software most employers use, and in your inbox within three business days.

What are you going after?

We start here on purpose. A résumé aimed at a specific job beats a general one every time — and everything after this gets shaped by your answer.

Most companies screen résumés with software before a person ever reads one. Pasting the posting shows you which of their exact words you're missing.

How do they reach you?

Keep it simple. Full street address isn't necessary anymore — city and state is the standard now.

Use a professional email. If yours is from high school, make a free one with your name in it — it takes four minutes and it matters more than people think.

Where have you worked?

Most recent first. Don't worry about sounding impressive — write what you actually did, and we'll help you sharpen it.

Never held a formal job? That's fine, and it's more common than you'd think. Put down what's real: running a household on a budget, church or volunteer work, caring for a family member, helping with a family business, a side hustle. That's work, and it belongs on a résumé. We'll frame it properly.

Education and credentials

Degrees, certificates, licenses, training programs — anything you finished, and anything you're partway through.

Didn't finish a degree? Say so plainly — "Coursework toward BS in Nursing, 62 credits completed." Unfinished is not the same as nothing, and hiding it reads worse than naming it.

Skills and proof

Two different things. Skills are what you can do; proof is a moment where it showed.

Look back at the missing words from step one and add any you honestly have.

Small counts. "Never had a register come up short in two years" is a real accomplishment and it tells an employer something true about you.

Held in confidence, and it never appears on your résumé.
